Our Tees Are So Damn Good
Let's face it, the fashion industry is pretty corrupt. It's heartbreaking that people are dying from the mistreatment in the industry of fast fashion. But thankfully, there are multiple brands taking action with ethical practices and transparent supply chains. After much searching (seriously this is such a process I'll write another post on), I was able to find an ethical supplier for our short sleeve Give a Damn tees. I wanted to make sure all the values of my brand were captured in this tee! And they are!
Our t-shirt supplier is based in Haiti and provides sustainable employment opportunities for individuals working to lift themselves out of poverty! On top of work opportunities the supplier also donates 100% of profits back to orphanages in Haiti. LIFE, the Haitian facility where the shirts are produced, is among a number of ventures developed to create dignified work that keeps families together. They pay workers 5x the going rate for similar jobs in the area. 100% of LIFE's profits are dedicated to programs that support orphans.
Our partner t-shirt supplier uses high quality, eco-friendly materials to increase their social responsibility! Our Give a Damn tees are made with 50% Repreve® polyester from recycled plastic; 25% organic, US grown, combed, ring spun cotton; and 25% TENCEL™ Modal. Repreve® polyester is actually made from recycled water bottles. Each shirt uses 6 recycled poly water bottles which is crazy! And I promise the shirts are soft as can be due to these incredible sustainable fibers. All of the fabric used to make our shirts is spun, knitted, & finished in the USA. Super cool! Our t-shirts are unisex sizing and range from S-XXL.
I designed both signature Give a Damn designs, The Dainty being more feminine and the Classic meant to make a bold statement. These designs are printed on our tees using vegan, eco-friendly inks free of chemicals right here in the USA.
I’m hoping to expand the designs to more sayings, styles, & colors so that we can give our Haitian t-shirt suppliers more business! But it’s up to you! If you all dig the shirts and purchase them, this allows me to design more, & send more business to Haiti! I know what you're thinking....ethical fashion is expensive. False. This tends to be a misconception, ethical fashion can be expensive, but isn't always. Our Give a Damn Tees are $25 which is probably the price you'd pay for a tee anywhere else. Except this has a good cause, is ethically made, and eco-friendly! So get your squad matching Give a Damn tees today! P.S. they're available for wholesale too if you know of any fun shops that give a damn!
