Ethics & Sustainability

Give a Damn Goods is always trying our best to be more sustainable. We value transparency with our t-shirt and brand partners.

Ethics & Sustainability of Our T-Shirts

Give a Damn Goods works closely with a few apparel suppliers. Our suppliers value livable wages, safe working environments, and eco-conscious practices. All our t-shirts are ethically made in Haiti or USA. Our current suppliers use a mix of organic cotton, USA grown conventional cotton, recycled polyester made from recycled water bottles, and TENCEL modal. Select t-shirts do contain a small amount of rayon.

Ethics & Sustainability of Our Partner Brands

Along with our t-shirts, Give a Damn Goods partners with other socially responsible small businesses to provide a range of products for our customers. Give a Damn Goods founder, Emily, has built many relationships with ethical & eco-conscious brands through her blog The Honest Consumer. Emily focuses on working with brands who value fair labor & responsible materials. Select partner brands have third party certifications such as B Corp, Fair Trade Federation, Fair for Life, or Fair Trade Certified. When customers click on a certain product they are able to read about the social impact which highlights third party certifications and informs customers on the ethics & sustainability of a certain item.

Eco-friendly Packaging & Materials

Give a Damn Goods believes in reducing, reusing, & recycling. That's why we don't have branded boxes. Instead we save all our boxes from inventory, packing materials received, and we reuse it! Along with reusing materials we also purchase a small amount of packing materials from Ecoenclose & noissue. Here are a few of our other eco-conscious packaging initiates.

  • Our t-shirt mailers are compostable.
  • Customers can plant our t-shirt hang tags & they will grow into wildflowers.
  • Our packing peanuts are biodegradable.
  • We use water activated tape whenever possible, however, sometimes this is tricky when we reuse boxes. So we do use the occasional regular packing tape.
  • Tissue paper & paper shreds are made from recycled materials.

Third Party Certifications

While Give a Damn Goods currently does not have any third party certifications select partner brands & t-shirt suppliers do. While third party certifications are something we hope to purse in the future as a small one woman run online boutique, this is not something Give a Damn Goods has had the time or resources to purse yet.

We are a small business and we acknowledge we are not perfect. If you have further questions about our ethics or sustainable practices please e-mail giveadamngoods@gmail.com and we'll be happy to help.
