How Does Splendid Spoon Work?
This healthy meal subscription service delivers plant-based meals right to your door. Consumers can choose a meal plan including the following options
- breakfast which features smoothies
- lunch which features bowls
- breakfast + lunch which features smoothies and bowls
- breakfast + lunch + reset which features smoothies, bowls, and light soups.
- breakfast + lunch + dinner + reset which features smoothies, bowls, noodles, and light soups.
- on demand which offers the freedom of ordering whenever you want from a variety of products including detox shot, smoothies, and bowls.
Once a consumer has chosen their subscription plan they can then choose their meal options from a variety of smoothie flavors, soup bowls, grain bowls, noodle dishes, and more.
Once the meals are selected they are mailed to the customers home and arrive frozen. If the lunch or dinner plan was chosen customers can easily warm up these meals in the microwave or oven.
Unlike meal kits, Splendid Spoon doesn’t require any cooking or preparation! Splendid Spoon’s meals are a great way to keep your meals easy & healthy.

Splendid Spoon Review
Recently I got to try some Splendid Spoon organic smoothies & soups. Here are my thoughts on some of Splendid Spoon’s meals.
This is an example of the breakfast plan and lunch plan featuring some of the nutritious meals I tried.
SPLENDID SPOON SMOOTHIES REVIEW
I really appreciated that these were low sugar smoothies. When purchasing pre-made smoothies it can be so challenging to find smoothies that don’t have a crazy amount of added sugars.
I also felt like the smoothies were very filling, I think this is partly because of the pea protein and butters used.
The smoothies were a thicker consistency as well.
Here is a list of the smoothie flavors I tried and my thoughts.
- Blueberry Coconut: I particularly loved this one as the açaí, blueberries, and cinnamon compliment each other really well. The coconut created a tropical flavor which my taste buds appreciate.
- Orange Hibiscus: I enjoyed the refreshing taste of this smoothie as the orange, hibiscus, and maqui berries create a unique flavor and great low sugar option.
- Coconut Lime Smoothie: This one was my favorite as I love the tropical flavors of coconut and lime. It tasted like a slushy I’d drink on the beach, but it was a healthy option that filled me up!
- Dragon Fruit Berry: The pineapple, dragon fruit, and raspberry flavors created a tart flavor perfect for starting your day with a tropical taste.
- Green Matcha: This one was my least favorite. For me personally I felt like this one didn’t have too much flavor. If you’re not a fan of fruity flavors, this smoothie might be a good choice for your taste buds.
SPLENDID SPOON SOUPS
When choosing my soups I thought it was really helpful that they had light soups and more hearty soups.
- Garden Minestrone: This soup was my favorite as I felt like it was one of the most flavorful and had a range of yummy vegetables included.
- Cauliflower Tikka: I also really loved this one as it had a lot of bold flavors that complimented the texture of the cauliflower.
- Beans & Greens: I felt like this soup was the most filling as it had beans and vegetables.
- Red Lentil Dal: The cumin and rosemary in this soup created a unique flavor that I really enjoyed. I felt like the herbs and spices really complimented the vegetables in this soup.
- Lentil & Kale: This one was probably my least favorite of the soups I tried. I felt like the other soups had more flavors.
Overall I was really impressed with Splendid Spoon’s meals. I really loved that Splendid Spoon allowed me to have quick healthy meals without the hassle of going to the grocery store or having to meal plan.
I think it’s great for someone with a busy schedule. I also appreciated how you could see the full ingredient list and nutritional information before adding foods to your cart.
This is great for people who are looking for healthy ingredients, a low calorie meal, or trying to avoid certain foods, to make the meals they are picking are a good option for their diet.
Is Splendid Spoon Sustainable?
Splendid Spoon definitely has some great sustainable practices.
ORGANIC INGREDIENTS
Splendid Spoon is one of the few meal services that focuses on organic ingredients.
It’s reported that on top of only non-GMO ingredients, 95% of Splendid Spoons smoothies are organic and for the grain bowls, soups, and noodle dishes, organic ingredients are sourced whenever possible, especially foods on the “Dirty Dozen” list, which is a list of fruits and vegetables that are most likely to contain pesticide residue.
I really appreciate that Splendid Spoon meals are made with responsibly sourced ingredients because this is something that is important to me when picking out meals.
PACKAGING
Splendid Spoon uses 100% recyclable packaging including BPA free plastic and dry ice instead of gel packs. In the future I would love to see them figure out an alternative to the plastic containers for the food, but for now at least they can be recycled.
